Ms. Pooja Dhama, a Master’s in Pharmacognosy from ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, Punjab. Currently, she is working as an assistant professor in the School of Pharmacy, Lingayas Vidyapeeth, Faridabad. Her job role includes:

  1. Academic teaching at UG/PG level
  2. Programme and curriculum design and development
  3. Academic Administration
  4. Examinations and evaluation
  5. Placements and industry connect
  6. Student counselling, institutional admissions and administration
  7. Quality assurance and academic research

Earlier she worked as an analyst in Quality Control department in Ananta Medicare Pvt. Limited, Shri Ganganagar, Rajasthan and she is responsible for establishing, implementing, overseeing, and enforcing quality control standards in a manufacturing or technical production environment. She was involved in all phases of the production lifecycle from evaluating raw materials to inspecting finished products to verify they meet target specifications. She have profound knowledge of cGMP and GLP regulations.

She Participated in regulatory inspections and audits, providing evidence of compliance with analytical methods and procedures, and addressing any findings or observations made by regulatory authorities. Collaborate with formulation scientists to support the development of new pharmaceutical products, providing analytical expertise to guide formulation decisions. Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of pharmaceutical products using techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), FT-IR, Digital Polarimeter, Dissolution Apparatus to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Develop and validate analytical methods for drug substances and drug products to ensure accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility of the analytical methods.

Being a modern pharmacognosist, she applied the skills of classical botanical pharmacognosy to ensure the identity, quality, purity, and integrity of plant drugs, which were being replaced by chemical drugs, was employed to search for novel compounds that could be exploited as drugs for commercial purposes.

  10. Participated as delegate in GUJCOST sponsored national seminar on “Phytomedicine amidst COVID 19: Key Perspectives” and State Convention of Society of Pharmacognosy.
  11. Training on CAMAG HPTLC SYSTEM at India Specific HPTLC Application Research Laboratory, Mumbai.
  12. Attended webinar on HPTLC and it’s uses in Herbal Analysis and it’s applications.
  1. Awarded as a member of best team of the month in January 2024 in Lingayas Vidyapeeth.
  2. Awarded for securing first position in Women’s Cricket event held on Foundation Day 2024 of Lingayas Vidyapeeth.

Project:

Her project work of master’s is “Exploring potential of quality control strategy considering the parameters of standardization in diverse vicinity of Withania Somnifera” which includes by using different drug solvent ration and different extraction methods estimation of best extracting solvent and method can contribute in the development of new raw material quality control strategy which may influences the manufacturing processes.
