Mr. Nitish Kumar Singh

Assistant Professor

Department of Mechanical Engineering

Prof. Singh is currently working in the field of lightweight materials, specifically focusing on ultra-light weight metallic foam materials. He completed his M.Tech with specialization in Advanced Production System from the National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training and Research, Bhopal (NITTTR_B). He has submitted his doctoral thesis from Vellore Institute of Technology. During his Ph.D., he received INR 2,00,000 under the Support for Excellence in Academic Research (SPEAR) program. In 2023. He was invited to Seoul, South Korea as speaker for International Conference and Exhibition on Materials & Engineering (ICEME). He has 16 publications in peer-reviewed international/national journals with a high impact factor.

Mr. Singh is also an active reviewer for Material Research Express, IOP publication SCIE, Open Engineering (formerly Central European Journal of Engineering) (SCI), Journal of Mines, Metals & Fuels, Heritage and Sustainable Development, and International Journal of Engineering and Technology Innovation.

He is an active member of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), a life member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), and IAENG Society of Mechanical Engineering. In addition to this, he was awarded the INSPIRE Scholarship in the year 2012 (DST-India). He received the Raman Research Award in the year 2023 at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for his Ph.D. work. His research interests include ultra-lightweight materials, composite materials, advanced welding, and finite element analysis.
