MIND MATTERS: 10 TIPS FOR A HEALTHY STATE OF MIND

MIND MATTERS: 10 TIPS FOR A HEALTHY STATE OF MIND

Mental health has been a neglected concern for many years. Lately, it has gained some space in modern day debates about health and wellness. While talking about mental health, it is imperative to understand that it includes not just absence of any clinical symptoms but one’s social, psychological and emotional well-being. These dimensions affect the way we think, feel and behave.

There are number of ways with the help of which you can bring down your stress level and improve mental health-

  • To lead a happy life, be patient, responsible, sensitive and responsive.
  • Give adequate importance to your own feelings- Many a times, we forget to prioritize our thoughts and opinions about ourselves and dwindle around how others think about us.
  • Establish good communication with your loved ones. Speak calmly and keep your conversations clear.
  • Respect yours and other’s right to take decisions in life.
  • Keeping a journal and writing about good or bad events of your life could be very helpful. Introspection allows us to understand our own mistakes in life.
  • Exercising daily, maintaining your diet, meditation, proper sleep schedule and most important talking to your friends and family can be helpful to you.
  • In order to lead a healthy life, we should stop assuming, assessing, criticizing and promising.
  • Practice gratitude as dearth only facilitates desires. One should be mindful of one’s blessings in life.
  • Stay connected to nature as it teaches us how beautiful and satisfying giving can become if we choose to be a giver.
  • Understand that mental health problems are real and require due consideration.

All of these things can help you to achieve a better mental health but if everything fails and you don’t know what to do then it will be good to reach out to an expert. Don’t be afraid as you are not alone.
